ABOUT THE ARTIST
Oscar Oramas
Oscar Oramas (b. 1971) is a native of Sancti Spiritus, a small city in central Cuba. He moved to Havana with his family as a young man, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Arts there before relocating permanently to Mexico. Oramas earned a Master’s Degree in Visual Arts at San Carlos Academy in Mexico City, a school known for its affiliation with the famous Mexican muralist Diego Rivera.
Working from nature and a concern for ecology, Oscar Oramas paints luminous landscapes fusing two stylistic schools of art, Impressionism and Abstract Expressionism.
